The spiderwort in question first appeared in 2009, and I wrote it about it then. I love watching for this plant each year. It’s now produced a second off-shoot, and I’m allowing it to go to seed this year naturally (I attempted to harvest seeds from it last two years and redistribute manually, but I never did it). The spiderwort blossom is such a beautiful purple color, and the petals are so soft it seems they would yield to the breath of a spider.
